Becoming a Member

JOIN US

Rehearsals are held on Mondays during term time, from 7:30pm to 9:30pm with a short break at the halfway point for choir notices . We usually hold a rehearsal on the afternoon of the concert at the concert venue.
Our Music Director will be listening for an ability to follow a score, sing in tune and blend with the other voices.

We offer new members free membership for the first term, and would only expect payment for music. After that, our membership fees are £275 (full annual membership) or £175 (concessions). Students are welcome to join us for free. Any difficulties in meeting fees can be discussed in complete confidence with the Committee Chair. Membership fees go to paying the Music Director's fee and hire of rehearsal venue.

Solo opportunities arise in some of our concerts, and our aim is to use voices from within the choir as far as possible. This depends on the quality of the voice, experience of the singer, and the accompaniment.

 

CONCERTS

Our concerts are usually performed locally, around Streatham or Dulwich, but we have also performed recently in Notting Hill. In the past we have been invited to sing in Normandy and Edale, where we have spent a long weekend, sampling the delights of the locality and getting to know our audience.

Concert dress is all black, often with an accent colour chosen by the choir (belt, scarf, earrings, tie, cravat, bow tie, socks, shoes, etc).
 

TERM DATES

Term dates for Autumn 2025: 8th September - 29th November, plus carol singing on 9th December at Herne Hill Station from 5:0 until 6:30pm.
