VISIT A REHEARSAL

Opus XVI welcomes potential new members, so if you would like to try us out, you can join us for a rehearsal on a Monday evening just before 7:30pm at All Saints Church, Lovelace Road, SE21 8JY where you will be warmly welcomed. You willl need to bring along a pencil for marking yor copy and a flask of water to keep you hydrated.

If you prefer, you can contact us first by emailing: enquiries@opus16.org.uk for further information. The church is close to the P13 and 201 bus stops and about an 8 minute walk from West Dulwich station. (what3words ///cans.piper.corn).

WHAT HAPPENS IN A REHEARSAL?

We start with a 10 minutes warm-up, which may comprise physial as well as vocal exercises. We will sight-read new music and then break it down into manageable chunks, rehearsing them slowly to get used rythms and words, going through individual parts if necessary. We always aim to inject our singing with the energy and emotion required by the music and words from the outset. Our Music Director is very good at cajoling us toward our best performance.

There is usually a 10-minute break halfway through the rehearsal for notices and an opportunity to chat, stretch and move around. And once a month we aim to finish early and retire to a local pub for socialising.
